MINE AND QUARRY REHABILITATION

Revolutionizing Mine Rehab: Instant Green's Soil Blanket

Ensure successful construction management and mine site rehabilitation from the very start with Instant Greens' dependable, tried-and-tested long-term solution: Soil Blanket with Mycorrhizal Fungi, tailored for New Zealand conditions.

BRINGING BACK NATURE

  • Restore your site to its natural state as closely as possible.

  • Implement long-term erosion control measures using natural methods.

  • Benefit from cost-effective and efficient spraying technology options for uneven, steep, or inaccessible surfaces.

  • Enhance community relationships by creating a visually appealing site.

Process:
Rehabilitation is the vital process of repairing the scars of progress caused by Mining and Civil works.

Objective:
To restore disturbed lands and waterways to an acceptable standard by revitalizing ecosystem functionality and land productivity.
  • Site rehabilitation involves analyzing your site's soil types, soil temperatures and creating a customized solution that aligns with your rehabilitation plans, both in the short term and long term. Our solutions can be used for land rehabilitation during and after projects, minimizing risks and maximizing success.
Instant Green collaborates with you to ensure cost-effective environmental remediation and long-term success.

  • With Instant Green's Hydro Mulch, Soil Blanket and Mycorrhizal Fungi we are able to revegetate, stabilize and provide long term vegetation succession across a wide variety of different sites. Whether it's Cut Batters, Steep slopes, mine tailings, faces with no organic matter or topsoil, or slips. With our advanced specialized Hydroseeding equipment and experience in this industry, we provide the all-round package.

  • Recent projects we have completed include sites where council requirements have been spreading 300mm of topsoil over the 3ha site and then hydroseeding over top. Instant Green provided a much more cost effective solution with our Soil Blanket, Mycorrhizal Fungi and Hydro Mulch to achieve temporary stabilisation, as well as long term vegetation succession. On this particular project we saved our client around $150-200k when compared to the original method of importing topsoil and spreading over site.

  • Our off road capable fleet includes military grade trucks, 8, 6 and 4 wheel drive. As well as on off road tractor unit which is ideal for those real hard to reach spots.

Mycorrhizal Fungi:
The Key to Long-Term Nutrient Supply for Revegetation and Stabilization

What is Mycorrhizal Fungi

  • Mycorrhizae are symbiotic associations that form between the roots of plant species and fungi.

  • They create a mutually beneficial relationship where the fungi provide nutrients to the plants, and the plants provide sugars to the fungi through photosynthesis.

How does it work?

  • Mycorrhizal fungi form an intricate web that captures and assimilates nutrients from the soil to the roots.

  • They are capable of absorbing and transferring all 15 major macro and micro nutrients required for plant growth.

  • The fungi also release chemicals that dissolve hard-to-reach nutrients like phosphorus, making them available to plants.

  • Additionally, the fungi improve soil structure by producing humic compounds and 'glomalin,' a soil glue, which bind soils into aggregates and improve soil porosity.

Why do we use it?

  • In native forests and natural ecosystems, mycorrhizae naturally exist and play a vital role in supporting plant growth.

  • Mixing mycorrhizae fungi into hydromulch helps to mimic and enhance natural growth conditions.

  • The fungi mobilize essential nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus from the soil, making them more accessible to plants.

  • By incorporating mycorrhizae fungi, we can promote healthier plant establishment and growth in various environments.
